Looking back, some of my earliest projects have aged remarkably well, while others… well, not so much! Around 15 to 20 years ago, a group of friends and I came together to create something special. We were passionate about music, skating, and the underground scene, organizing hardcore concerts in nightclubs and run-down venues across NRW.
We quickly realized we needed to spread the word, so we started designing flyers and posters to promote our events. As a young teen, I instinctively jumped into creating trailers that spotlighted the acts we were showcasing. Suddenly, I became "that guy" who dabbled in motion design—though back then, I didn’t even know what to call it; maybe “title design” was the closest term!
With very few fancy tutorials on After Effects available, I relied on the scant information I could find online and built upon that knowledge bit by bit. Those initial clumsy steps in motion graphics and video editing opened up a world for me. Before I knew it, I was collaborating with major names in the music industry, promoting music, festivals, and concerts.
What started as a fun project with friends turned into long-lasting relationships and a deep passion for creativity. Each project taught me something new, and I couldn’t be more grateful for those early experiences that shaped my journey in the world of motion design.
